Prior to entering the legal profession, Ken owned and managed several companies which designed, manufactured, installed and maintained indoor adventure play areas for children and laser tag arenas for adults.

Through selling and supplying to play area operators in the UK and overseas markets he has acquired a bedrock of commercial and practical business experience enabling him to provide pragmatic legal advice and support to the firm’s commercial clients.

Having reviewed how much his companies were spending on legal fees each year he made the decision to take himself back to university and study for a law degree part-time while still running his business.

While his initial reason for studying law was purely to support the commercial activities of his firms he came to appreciate that combining his first-hand business experience with his legal qualifications presented a new opportunity and, having become fully qualified as a solicitor, he set up Sandgate Law to primarily serve business clients in 2011.

Following the retiral of his business partner in 2021, Ken joined Clarity Simplicity as a Consultant Solicitor bringing with him a fusion of legal and commercial expertise for the benefit of both new start and established business clients.

By first getting to know and fully understand the nature of a client’s business he is able to provide them with sound and realistic advice that is based on practical legal considerations which is clear, coherent and comprehensive.
