Inspiring Quote
"Never get so busy making a living that you forget to make a life."
Mission Statement: Relax. You're in Good Hands.
How did you end up in this role?
I studied Law at the University of Strathclyde with no intention of going on to be a lawyer – I did well at school and followed the advice of various teachers to study Law as it would open up many doors. Only in my fourth year at university did I take the view that it would be somewhat disheartening to watch my friends and fellow students go on to pursue the career we’d all worked extremely hard to get to, and for me simply to change direction at that stage.
I therefore decided to follow the natural progression of the undergraduate degree course and after graduating with a 2:1 Honours degree I moved on to study the DPLP at Strathclyde University.
I thoroughly enjoyed the DPLP course and this confirmed to me that I had made the right choice. I began working with Complete Clarity in January 2016 as a Legal Assistant on a part-time basis. I was then offered the role of Trainee Solicitor in June 2016. My Traineeship ended in June 2018 and I am now a fully qualified solicitor.
What do you love most about your job?
I enjoy the variety of my work – no two days are the same. More so, however, I enjoy working with people from all walks of life and helping them to resolve their various legal problems. A huge part of my job is building relationships – I want my clients to trust me and have confidence in what I’m doing for them. There’s a great deal of satisfaction in getting a good result for a client after having been on the legal journey with them.
How do you do what you do?
With a smile and the best interests of my clients at the forefront.
About Kirsty
Kirsty came to Clarity Simplicity in January 2016 after completing her LLB in Scots Law and her Diploma in Professional Legal Practice at Strathclyde University. Whilst studying at university, she held down a supervisory position within a 5* Hotel where her love of meeting new people and hearing their stories developed.
She began her employment with Clarity Simplicity on a part-time basis in the role of Legal Assistant, taking enquiry calls and assisting qualified solicitors across the firm with a variety of tasks. Having clicked well with the team, she was offered a Traineeship which commenced in June 2016 and has worked mainly in Civil Litigation and Residential Conveyancing since then.
Kirsty enjoys the challenges associated with litigation, and the fast pace and client-focused side of conveyancing. She qualified in June 2018 and accepted a position as a Newly Qualified Solicitor within the firm, where she’ll continue to work mainly from our Shawlands branch.
Personal Information
I’d love to say my hobbies are shopping ‘til I drop, however most of my time is now spent either at home or in a park with my mental jack russell x pug puppy (and my money spent on chew toys and treats!) I also enjoy spending time with family and friends, attending gym classes and trying to better myself at my local jogging group.
