Depp and Heard Divorce Finalised in Court

The divorce of celebrity couple Johnny Depp and Amber Heard has now been finalised in a Los Angeles court, various media outlets have reported.

The couple had been married for less than two years before they announced their separation in May last year. The separation and subsequent divorce proceedings have been high-profile, and at times exceedingly bitter, with Heard threatening to apply for a restraining order after claiming she had been physically abused by Depp – allegations he has always strongly denied.

According to the Guardian, the finalised settlement includes many of the terms that the couple had initially set out back in August last year.

The settlement stipulates that Depp is to pay Heard $7 million, which she has said will be given straight to charity. There were no children from the relationship, but the couple did have two Yorkshire terriers, which will apparently remain with Heard, together with the couple’s horse. Depp will reportedly keep a number of international properties he owns and also his vehicle collections. No spousal support will be paid to either party.

A confidentiality clause is apparently in force that prohibits either of them from talking publicly about their relationship, reports the Guardian.
